Objectives

  • To promote advanced formation, multi and interdisciplinary in scientific areas related to Environmental, Marine and Earth Sciences
  • Development of skills and scientific training at the highest level, including scientific analysis, innovation, critical thinking, decision-making and independent research work
  • Enable doctoral students to do research in cutting-edge fields and to be integrated into international research teams, being prepared for future participation and coordination of research projects
  • Development of entrepreneurship skills and specific tools applied to the industrial and production sector

Operating Mode

The degree is awarded in one of the following scientific areas:

  • Biological Sciences
  • Environmental Sciences and Technology
  • Marine Sciences
  • Geosciences
  • Fisheries and Aquaculture

These different majors have a similar curriculum, including Thesis (210 ECTS), Seminars (6 ECTS), Thesis Plan (4 ECTS) and Optional Courses (20 ECTS). Optional Courses include syllabus courses (from other graduate degree programs), advanced training courses or internships in any scientific area, previously approved by the Coordinating Committee under the supervisor´s advisement.
