Introduction
Minor English Language studies are designed for those, who are willing to enter a Bachelor's study programme at Mykolas Romeris University, but do not have sufficient knowledge of the English language necessary for studying in a foreign language.
During the first study year students, who enter a major Bachelor study programme together with a minor in English language studies, will focus on language studies only. Upon completion of one year of Minor English Language studies and reaching a sufficient English language proficiency level international students will continue studies in their selected Major.
The purpose of the programme is to train specialists who have general philological knowledge about the structure and functioning of English and the culture of the country of the study language, who can communicate in English in the work environment and can ensure smooth intercultural communication in the institutions which cooperate with foreign partners.
The programme comprises the study field subjects such as general English (Modern English) and culture studies (Great Britain and the USA Country Studies). Students will deepen their knowledge of phonetics, grammar, and language in use, and develop their language skills, including reading skills, written and oral communication skills, and intercultural communication competency.
