Introduction
Information Technology, Bachelor of Engineering
As a student of Information Technology you will learn the basics in core engineering subjects such as mathematics and physics. Professional studies in Information Technology will fortify your engineering skills in addition to languages and communication skills and business courses that will top-up your competence. You will be linked to working-life throughout your studies via industry-related projects, work placement periods and a Final Year Project. This gives you a chance to create useful networks and plan your future career whilst studying.

Major options
You will choose your major option during your first study year. We offer you three options: Game Development, Smart IoT Systems and Software Engineering.
Game Development
Game Development major is about creating interactive, immersive and fun games for different platforms. You`ll learn to program games and make graphics to combine them into a entertaining experience. Courses include programming (C#, C++), 3D graphics, algorithms and AI, VR/AR development, back-end solutions and graphics programming. You`ll also get to participate on several game projects during your studies. The skills and technology you learn let`t you work not only in a game studios but also in other software developmentcompanies. And if you are interested in entrepreneurship, you can create your own game studio try to create the next big hit.
Software Engineering- Digital Media in Your Hands
You will learn the skills and knowledge needed to become a software engineer. On top of the technical software engineering topics, you will learn also teamwork, communication and user experience design skills. For teaching programming and software design we use moderns tools and frameworks including Android development with Kotlin, iOS development with Swift and web development with React. We emphasise a practical approach to software engineering and all courses include substantial amount of coding. Every semester there will be a large project course during which you get to develop an application that you can add to your portfolio for improving changes of getting hired already during your studies. Graduate of Software Engineering usually work as software engineers, mobile web developers, full stack developers, iOS and android developers.
Smart IoT Systems - Internet is everywhere
Smart embedded systems
Smart embedded systems are devices with open source operating system. They for example control industrial processes or collect IoT data for cloud services. Understanding basics of cloud services is important. Students learn professional embedded development practices and tools by participating development projects during their study. Graduates will work for example in product research and development departments, as a technical specialists or as a software developer in various ICT companies.
Communication networks and Cloud Computing
Communication networks and Cloud Computing study focus gives student an insight to the world of computer network technologies, server systems and cloud services. You can put the learnt theory into practice in our data communication laboratory which is based on IP-networking, server systems and mobile networks. Courses developed in co-operation with the leading networking equipment manufacturers give excellent skill set for secure network and server system design, implementation and maintaining. Students may work in various ICT related positions after the graduation such as a project manager, network specialist, cloud system administrator, ICT security specialist or technical specialist.

Degree title: Bachelor of Engineering
Credits: 240 ECTS
Studies require full-time attendance in most of the courses, which are organised in multiple ways such as lectures, group work, projects, tutorials and self-study. If you have completed IT related studies earlier, we will do an individual learning path to ensure the smooth progress of your studies.
You will study four 15 ects credits courses in the first year and the courses require full-time attendance.
