Student Organizations
College life is about more than simply taking classes: what you do outside the classroom can lead to bonds and friendships that last a lifetime. In many cases, extracurricular activities can also benefit you in your major, and provide skills that will prove useful after you leave Fairmont State and begin a career.
Extracurricular activities are not only fun, but they are also a great way to unwind and destress.
Falcon Center
Go for a swim, work out in the fitness center, hit the bookstore, eat at one of the many restaurants, or just hang out between classes: you can do it all at The Falcon Center, the hub of Fairmont State campus life.
Housing & Residence Life
Your Fairmont State University residence hall isn’t just where you’ll hit the hay at the end of the day, it’s a place where you will live your best life. It truly is your new home away from home. And, unlike many other universities, incoming first-year students aren’t relegated to one or two halls – as a freshman, you may choose to live in any of our residence halls.
Greek Life
If you’ve seen a few movies about college and think you know what Greek life is all about, think again. Join a fraternity or sorority at Fairmont State University and you’ll forge lifelong friendships and enjoy academic and personal support from your Greek family. Fairmont State University’s Greek community prides itself on the contributions it makes to the university and the local community.
Student Government Association
Grow as a leader in Fairmont State's Student Government Association (SGA). The SGA is a campus-wide student government that represents all Fairmont State students, consisting of Class Senators who are elected each year to represent Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, and Graduate students.
Work Study
Get a job on campus to build your resume, help pay your tuition (one of the lowest tuition rates in the state and region), and earn extra spending money.
