Introduction
Music Technology BASc (Hons)
This course - the only BASc in Music Technology in the country - has been designed to link creative vision with deep technical understanding. We will help you to explore and develop creatively and technically, equipping you with the skills to shape your future in the music industry.
You will be able to choose from a wide range of modules to tailor your knowledge of Music Technology: half of your modules from arts-oriented BA options and the other half from technology-oriented BSc options. Modules that you will explore include Performing with Technology, Procedural Programming for Music, Location recording, Plugin Development and Ensemble Recording.
Learn how to create new and innovative musical performance models and develop existing ones. You will produce projects involving both solo and small group performances, and learn how to document and evaluate your work. At the same time, you will learn about audio engineering fundamentals and how science and engineering underpins the technology used for sound creation and production.
Throughout your studies, emphasis is placed upon gaining practical experience and applying it in professional studios to prepare you for your future career, whether that is within the media and music industries, or striking out on your own as an independent freelance creative.
