It will increase your understanding of the principles, applications, and context underlying economic policy, focusing on the financial aspects of policy making. In addition, students who take the MSc in Finance will acquire a sound understanding of theories in finance and of the workings of financial markets, for a career in finance or for further research at the PhD level. Students will also become acquainted with the main issues and methods in Macroeconomic Policy, Microeconomic Policy, International Finance, and Banking and Capital Markets. The programme will present Finance and Economic Policy as scientific disciplines with a rigorous methodology, but at the same time will describe the way financial markets and institutions actually work in a variety of contexts.

The Master's Degree in Economic Analysis and Finance at the University of Valladolid has a dual nature. It seeks to provide students with a deep understanding of the fundamentals of economics, as well as the functioning of financial institutions and markets. This double economic-financial vision provides the student with two important benefits. On the one hand, a great versatility, both in the business field and in a public context, which is a competitive advantage in the labour market, compared to those specialists in one of the two fields. On the other hand, the rigorous analysis of economic-financial foundations and analytical techniques enable students to continue, if they so wish, with the preparation of a doctoral thesis in Economics or Finance. The University of Valladolid offers doctoral programs in Economics and Business Economics.

This program offers an in-depth study of both finance and economics. Finance is a conceptual framework that combines corporate finance, investment and financial institutions, showing how businesses should be managed to increase wealth. On the other hand, economics adjusts the concepts and tools of economic analysis to a wide variety of situations. It covers economics from its earliest intellectual contributions to the evolution of contemporary economic philosophy. A thesis for this program should be designed from a decision-making perspective to address practical, real-world financial-economic problems that executives face every day.
