The mission of the undergraduate program of the Department of Electrical Engineering is to augment the liberal education expected of all Stanford undergraduates, to impart a basic understanding of electrical engineering built on a foundation of physical science, mathematics, computing, and technology, and to provide majors in the department with knowledge of electrical engineering principles along with the required supporting knowledge of mathematics, science, computing, and engineering fundamentals.

EE's innovative program is designed to provide students with education in electrical engineering with electronics and communications. The goal of the BSEE program is to provide students who are capable of pursuing fulfilling careers in a changing world, to fulfill the undergraduate technical education needs of the Community, Business and Industry of the North Bay region.

The Electrical Engineering (EE) program at Caltech prepares its students for either graduate study, entrepreneurial careers, or research and development work in government or industrial laboratories. It inspires them to undertake careers and professional practices that provide an opportunity to address the pressing technological needs of society. It accomplishes this by building on the core curriculum to provide a broad and rigorous exposure to the fundamentals (e.g., math, science, and principles of engineering) of electrical engineering. EE's other program objectives are multiple. The program strives to maintain a balance between classroom lectures and laboratory and design experience, and it emphasizes the problem formulation, system-design, and solving skills that are essential to any engineering discipline. The University of Mount Union’s minor in electrical engineering degree provides students with hands-on experiences in the application of scientific and mathematical principles utilized to design, manufacture, and control structures, machines, processes, and systems.

Every Olin student gets some basic electrical and computer engineering experience. Students learn basic circuit analysis, design, and testing in Modeling and Control in the first year and work with sensors, data acquisition, and signal processing in Real-World Measurements.
