Key concepts, such as culture, identity, diversity, democratic processes, Europeanisation, and globalization are discussed in an interdisciplinary manner.

BAES – BA in EUROPEAN STUDIES is a unique bachelor's degree jointly developed by eight leading European universities within the Una Europa - European University Alliance. This innovative degree program is distinctively designed with a multidisciplinary and multilinguistic approach, urging students to reflect on the role of Europe and European Integration and master research skills needed to analyze key issues related to Europe. BAES’s extensive mobility program aims not only to teach students about Europe but also to expose them to the lived experience of unique European environments and cultures.

Study European societies, values, and institutions in a truly international, multilingual, and interdisciplinary joint program, offered in the framework of the unique university alliance of Una Europa. In this unique joint program, organized by nine research-intensive universities within the Una Europa alliance, you study the fundamental aspects and values of the European Union as well as European states and societies.

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) is Otago's most flexible undergraduate degree program, enabling students to study from a selection of more than 40 arts and social science subjects, as well as papers offered elsewhere in the University. Academic breadth is complemented by in-depth knowledge gained through majoring in one or two subjects with the option of minors in one or two others.
