Undergraduate in STEM Scholarship 2024

This STEM degree scholarship will be awarded for students beginning their STEM studies in the Fall 2024 semester or after and is worth up to $5,000. It's open to international students from any country who will be studying an undergraduate STEM degree abroad at a college or university.

The application period for this opportunity ends on 13 October 2024 at 12:00 CEST.

Eligibility

To apply for our scholarship:

• You must have a plan to enroll at any undergraduate STEM* degree program (e.g. Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Engineering, etc.)
• You must meet the entry requirements for the university or college of your choice.
• Hold valid credentials required for undergraduate enrollment
• Meet language requirements for the program
• You must hold or be eligible to apply for a relevant study visa.
• You must not be a citizen or permanent resident of the country to which you are applying.

* Fields of Study that qualify for the STEM scholarship: for the purpose of this scholarship, STEM is defined as Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Programs that fall into these disciplines will be considered for eligibility on an individual basis and we reserve the right to reject applicants if the specified program does not fit within the STEM fields.

• Applications open: 15 March 2024

• Finalists notified: 11-16 November 2024
• Winner announced: 22-30 November 2024
• Scholarship paid out: Spring 2025 semester

Application requirements

Wondering how to apply for one of our yearly scholarships to study an undergraduate STEM degree abroad?

To be considered, you'll need to submit your completed application by 13 October 2024 at 12:00 CEST.

The application consists of:

• Filling out a short form
• Answer our questions in the form: Some of them consists of:
  • Briefly present yourself
  • What is your single greatest accomplishment you have achieved while a high school student?

Please note: Applications need to be submitted in English. Applications in other languages won't be considered.

If you're selected as a finalist, you'll be asked to provide:

• Proof of acceptance into a university in the form of a copy of your acceptance letter
• Proof that you've completed the relevant qualifications for the undergraduate program in the form of a copy of your high school transcript or other applicable documents
• A copy of your passport to prove your identity

It is very important that all copies of documents are color scans. Please have these documents on hand should you be selected as a finalist. You will have 7 days from the time we tell you that you're a finalist to send us this documentation.

All finalists who are not chosen as the winner will still receive a USD 150 flight voucher. Therefore, you’ll also need to: 

• Tell us that you want to accept our gift within 3 days of being told that you unfortunately have not won our scholarship - but are still listed as one of our finalists.
• Make a post and tag us on Instagram, LinkedIn, and/or Facebook to tell others about yourself as the finalist.

If selected as our winner, you'll need to:

• Tell us that you want to accept our scholarship within 3 days of being told that you have won.

FAQs about this scholarship

What programs qualify as STEM undergraduate programs?

STEM is generally understood to consist of natural and life sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics degrees. We will consider applicants enrolled/enrolling in all programs related to these fields and reserve the right to reject any applicants whose chosen program does not fit within the STEM designation.

How many scholarships to study an Undergraduate in STEM will be awarded?

There is only one scholarship available per round. This will be awarded to one individual.

However, there will be four finalists chosen. Every finalist who is not selected as a winner will get a USD 150 Flight Voucher as the award.

When will I find out if I've won the undergraduate STEM degree scholarship?

The scholarship finalists will be contacted between the 11th and 16th of November 2024, and the winner will be announced on our website and social media channels between the 22th and 30th of November 2024.

Can I edit my application after I submit it?

No, your application cannot be edited once you submit it. Please make sure that you complete the application form in English and with all the correct information before you click ‘Submit.’ If you have questions about an application you have submitted, you can email our scholarship team at scholarships@educations.com

Please do not submit applications via email. Applications and other documents sent via email will not be considered and will be discarded.

What do I have to submit with my application? 

In the initial application, all you need to do is fill in the application form. Make sure to complete all required sections and to write your application in English. Applications completed in languages other than English will not be considered.

If you are selected as a finalist, you will be asked to supply us with more documents that further prove your eligibility.

Can I get reimbursed if I have already paid my tuition fees for the Fall 2024 (and/or Spring 2025) semester?

Unfortunately, we’re unable to reimburse tuition fees that you have already paid. The scholarship fund can only be used towards upcoming tuition fees and is paid directly to your university.

Can this scholarship be used towards other expenses?

The scholarship fund can only be used towards your tuition fees. No living costs, accommodation rental, travel expenses, or other semester fees can be covered.

Can I email you or send you my application by post?

No, all applications must be submitted via the official online form (link below). If you email or post us your application, we will not include it for consideration.

I have already started studying my undergraduate degree. Am I still eligible?

Yes, if you have already started your undergraduate studies before Fall 2024, you are still eligible to apply.

I am applying to study my degree online. Am I eligible for this scholarship?

No, this scholarship is only eligible towards tuition fees for in-campus programs or degrees.
