A Welding Apprenticeship Level 2 provides a structured training program for individuals interested in pursuing a career in welding. Here are the key aspects and benefits of such an apprenticeship: Practical Skills Development: Apprenticeships combine on-the-job training with classroom learning. In a welding apprenticeship, you'll gain hands-on experience in welding techniques, safety procedures, and equipment operation under the supervision of experienced professionals. Technical Knowledge: The apprenticeship covers theoretical knowledge related to welding, including understanding different welding processes (such as MIG, TIG, arc welding), reading technical drawings, materials science, welding codes and standards, and quality control measures.

The Certificate of Specialization in Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) Levels I, II, & or IV signifies mastery of first-level advanced welding skills in Flux-Cored Arc Welding. This specialized certification program is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and expertise needed to excel in the field of welding, particularly in the area of Flux-Cored Arc Welding.

Are you interested in a career that requires hands-on and problem-solving skills? Consider becoming a welder! The Welding Applied Certificate is a 20-week program with 5 weeks of career skills training and a paid 8-week work placement. Build your knowledge and skills in operating welding equipment and performing basic welding operations. You’ll get hands-on instruction in shop practice and safety, oxy/acetylene fusion welding, cutting, gas metal arc welding (MIG), and shielded metal arc welding (stick) welding. Plus, you’ll develop additional skills in the work experience component. When you graduate, you’ll be prepared for an entry-level job in a variety of industries that need welders. Trade time and academic credit may be available for graduates who find employment in the trade and register as apprentices.

In this NZQA accredited course, you can boost your education and career opportunities with this specialised welding qualification. You will build on your existing welding skills, gain more experience in our ‘real world’ workshop, and pick up four industry recognised welding tickets. In this 16 week course you’ll advance your existing welding skills and spend time in our ‘real-world’ workshop to gain up to four industry-recognised Welding tickets and your Certificate in Career Preparation for Specialised Welding Level 4.

The Industrial Welding Program supports and maintains a training platform that focuses on the most common welding and sheet metal processes, certifications, and supporting technologies used in the industry.

The Welding Technology department is committed to training students to become the best welders they can be. The field of welding continues to evolve with significant advances in technology. In our state-of-the-art welding shop, students begin by using our Virtual Reality VRTEX 360 Simulators.

The State of North Dakota is in dire need of professional welders. The NHSC welding program provides students with the basic welding skills needed for entry-level welding jobs and apprenticeship programs.

The Welding Technology Certificate provides state-of-the-art training on common welding processes (Shielded Metal Arc [SMAW], Metal Inert Gas [MIG], Tungsten Inert Gas [TIG], oxy-acetylene and plasma cutting) and extensive skill building in each welding position. Additionally, American Welding Society (AWS) Certification for structural plate and pressure pipe is available. The certificate may be used as one of the technical disciplines required for the AAS in General Technology.
