At Swansea, our teaching, and research explores the history, theory and practice of media, film, journalism and public relations. Research is developed through the two main groupings of European Film and Identity, and Media History, Theory and Technology, together with overlapping clusters exploring Journalism and Global Media.

Cutting-edge facilities are housed in a purpose-built Media Centre - featuring a green screen studio, four TV studios, six radio studios and a post-production suite! Students are encouraged to engage with the industry by securing work placements and working on commercial productions within the University. Previous students have obtained placements with companies including Disney, IBM and Philips Acoustics.

The School of Media’s facilities are used by the industry as well as Media students! The School’s permanent green screen studio is one of the largest in the UK. As a Media student, you will have the opportunity to complete at least two industry placements! Many courses have been accredited by ScreenSkills – the government's skills sector council for audio, visual and creative industries. No portfolio required!

The programme is designed to offer students who have successfully completed the foundation degree, or a similar course in make-up, the opportunity to obtain the award of an honors degree.

The course aims to prepare students with the creative skills required to work within the media make-up industry.

Sunway Foundation Programme (SFP) is Sunway’s homegrown foundation program that offers students the chance to further their education at Sunway University. FIA creates an academic pathway for students to transition smoothly into tertiary-level studies at Sunway University or to selected local and overseas universities. FIA equips students with the technical and soft skills necessary to be resourceful and successful in higher studies and enterprising in their careers.
