This is the first Tourism Degree developed in Uruguay. It has the uniqueness that it is the only career in Maldonado that has four titles, which are awarded in the course of it. This allows potentially interested parties, both to fully develop their career, fulfilling the four-year program, to become an expert in matters of analysis and planning of tourism projects, as well as to develop technical training instances. In this way, if the student completes one, two, or three years and does not meet the requirements of the last year, they still obtain a university degree. For this, you only have to complete all the subjects of the year. In the first year, he receives a diploma in Tourism Services Management. This program already offers extraordinary training to work in activities related to Hospitality, Gastronomy, Real Estate, and Events. Unifa has unemployment 0, for more than five years with the students of this course, since with this training it is very easy for them to access the very important tourist companies in the department. In the second year, the person receives the Title of University Tourism Guide. This is the only proposal for the training of University Guides that exists in Uruguay. Their labor insertion is very high for the simple reason that these young people are the ones who are prepared to work in the hundreds of tours that are organized throughout the year, by various companies. It is also easy to recognize that in the summer season, due to the presence of cruises, the number of Tourist Guides that are in Maldonado is really insufficient, so companies must often hire people who have no preparation for this activity, with the consequent loss of quality of the services that involve them. With the third year, the person obtains the Technique in Tourism, which enables him to carry out tasks related to the organization of tourism companies. The fourth-year allows obtaining the title of Bachelor of Tourism. He is a person who is theoretically and practically capable of practicing the profession in different fields. It works in the areas of assistance and advice to companies linked to this sector, in relation to the planning, organization, execution, and control of all the resources they have. You can develop your task at the managerial or consulting level. He is capable of developing his work in a morally committed way through the application of the knowledge that makes up the tourist sciences, as well as having enough knowledge to design research projects, referring to various topics that make up the work of this discipline.
