Your bachelor degree will give you access to both the Master of Theology and Religious Studies and the Research Master.

Today’s theology students are faced with the momentous task of making relevant contributions to modern culture. This requires a thorough and interdisciplinary academic training. The two-year Research Master equips students to function as experts in Church and society and prepares them for further research specifically oriented towards the Doctoral Programme in Theology.

The Master of Society, Law and Religion is designed to provide students with an advanced understanding of crime, public response to crime and, specifically, criminal justice in Europe and beyond. The programme focuses recent developments in criminological theory and their implications for national and international policy-making.

The two-year programme focuses on the study of canon law and provides an introduction into the law of other religions (comparative law) and the study of capita selecta. The skills obtained will be applied during the internship and improved through personal research. This general experience will be reflected in a research paper.

Interested in the study of theology and religion? In Leuven we offer an internationally renowned Bachelor of Theology and Religious Studies. In a three-year program (full- or part-time) students are initiated in all areas that together constitute Christian theology; in addition, particular attention is given to the contribution of religious studies, classical and modern languages, and philosophy. In some cases students can be granted advanced standing and as such admission to the Abridged Bachelor of Theology and Religious Studies (between 45 to 120 ECTS).
