Whether you are already working in the industry, studying acting in college, or still in high school, our four-week Summer Intensive Training programs are built to offer you the personalized training you need. Our courses in Acting for Film and Television or Musical Theatre Performance enable experienced performers to work on skill-building, and novice performers to sample the life of an actor living and working in New York City. 

Discover your creative passion, build friendships, and find your place at Pratt in this immersive college-level program. Spend the summer on Pratt’s Brooklyn campus in intensive art, design, architecture, or creative writing courses, informed and inspired by the backdrop of New York City. During this four-week full-time program, students develop conceptual and technical skills; and create portfolio pieces for college admission, while earning elective college credits.

Engage in rigorous college-level courses as a high school student and earn elective college credits accepted at Pratt and most other universities. Modeled after Pratt Institute’s undergraduate offerings in art, design, architecture, and writing, and taught by Pratt faculty, PreCollege courses immerse students in the creative process. PreCollege students are connected with a vibrant community of like-minded young people developing their skills and individual voice.

Fall, Winter and Spring PreCollege courses are designed for high school students to explore creative disciplines and prepare for admission to a degree in art, design, or architecture. During these college level programs, students create portfolio pieces for college admission and develop art/design skills while earning elective college credit. The New York Academy of Art holds a unique month-long Summer Residency Program in New York City for ambitious undergraduate students and recent graduates. The program is open to current students and recent graduates of the US and international institutions with a demonstrated ability in art. Those admitted to the program will have the opportunity to work in our studios, take classes and exhibit at the Academy.
