Required for the Innovation and Entrepreneurship minor. Open to visiting students during the summer. Explores the conceptual frameworks that guide ideation and innovation, focusing on the five learning principles of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship minor. Analyzes the conditions that foster innovation as well as the process by which ideas progress from conception to implementation and execution, along with their economic or social impact.

Since 2014, the International Summer School “The City and the Water” has been a full-time design workshop that explores the complex relationships between the built environment and water, in its broadest sense as an environmental resource, including the sea, rivers, lakes and water resources.

The Sustainable Fashion Summer Course gives you the techniques and tools you need to make a fashion brand, its products, design processes, marketing, management and the materials it uses, truly sustainable. In the Summer Course in Governing Climate Change: Theory and Practice, participants will delve into the examination of diverse approaches for coping with climate change, encompassing international agreements, market-based solutions, civil society initiatives, and corporate actions.

The Summer Course in Innovation and Future thinking —the Futures Lab—will help students improve their ability to detect signals of change, organize insights into understandable models, synthesize new ways of mapping possible futures, identify the potential barriers and opportunities these futures present, and design innovative products, services or ideas that satisfy emerging needs.

The Summer School Reinventing Rural: Transformative Solutions in Innovative Rural Areas, the Tuscany Case explores how small farms contribute to transformative solutions in innovative rural areas while contributing to local prosperity and food and services provisioning for society.
