The Pisa International Summer Experience is a short-term, all-inclusive program for international students who want to combine language learning, culture, and travel in one unforgettable summer. The program offers a genuine taste of academic and cultural life in Italy.

The Summer School offers a one-week multidisciplinary program held at the Department of Chemistry at the University of Pisa. It is designed to train graduate students, particularly those pursuing a PhD degree, who have an interest in Heritage Science.

The Summer School will take place in Pisa. Between the afternoon of Monday, July 6, and the morning of Friday, July 10, 2026, twenty-five hours of lectures and seminars will be held. An MS Teams connection will be provided so that the lectures and seminars can be attended online as well.

Following the success of previous editions (2016, 2017, 2019, 2024), which saw the participation of more than two hundred students from all around the world, the Department of Political Science of the University of Pisa is now organizing the new International Summer School on Grounded Theory and Qualitative Methods.

Since 2021, the Universities of Pisa and Sultan Qaboos have been engaged in a joint archaeological mission at Al-Tikha, within the modern city of Rustaq in the Al-Batinah Governorate of Oman. The Summer School will be held on campus in the archaeological site of Al Tikha, Al Ghashab, Rustaq, Oman, 318.

The third edition of the Summer School “Microwaves and mm-waves for the Design of Advanced Wireless Links: Communication, Sensing and Power Transfer” aims to provide participants with a solid understanding of the fundamental principles and design strategies of modern wireless systems operating in the microwave and millimeter-wave frequency bands. It is co-coordinated by Prof. Paolo Nepa (Department of Information Engineering, University of Pisa) and Prof. Pietro Bolli, (Technology Director at the INAF Arcetri Astrophysical Observatory, Florence).

The Easter School “Writing the Essay Beyond Borders” is part of the activities of the Erasmus+ Project Essays Beyond Borders, in which Università di Pisa is a partner along with the universities of Malta, Ghent, and Groningen, as well as the Slovenian Writers’ Association.

The Archaeological Field School of Etruscology offers a 10-day academic programme including archaeological excavation activities in the Etruscan necropolis of Colombaie di Volterra, located in northern Tuscany. The excavation carried out since 2016 by the Etruscology Team of the University of Pisa revealed the presence of Late Orientalizing/Early Archaic mounds.

The Summer School will focus on methodologies and ICT technologies for an autonomous, sustainable, resilient, and human-centered industry. The Summer School will provide an analysis of both the state of the art and frontier research in the field of ICT technologies for Industry 5.0, such as Artificial Intelligence, Embodied Intelligence, Human-Centric Systems, Smart Material Devices, and Future Networks.

The 2026 edition of the Summer School will focus on playwriting and the rewriting and adaptation of literary texts for theater and stage performance.

The Summer School “Ancient Egyptian Astronomy, Archaeoastronomy, and Magic” is a 7-day intensive academic program aimed to introduce the students to the study of ancient Egyptian astronomy.

The one-week intensive Summer School explores strategies and methods for effective museum communication, with a focus on the content, design, and technology of labels and educational panels. The Summer School will be activated with at least 7 students. The maximum number of participants is set to 20 students.

The Summer School in Osteoarchaeology and Paleopathology is an academic program aimed at training students in anthropological and paleopathological laboratory methods. It is an outstanding opportunity for students to gain experience in bioarchaeological investigation by working side-by-side with leading researchers in the field.

This Summer School aims to provide students with the basic concepts of Python software and, through practical exercises on a computer running Python, address some of the most common applications in the field of geosciences

Since 2014, the International Summer School “The City and the Water” has been a full-time design workshop that explores the complex relationships between the built environment and water, in its broadest sense as an environmental resource, including the sea, rivers, lakes and water resources.
