Design Immersion Days (DID) is an immersive four-week summer program that introduces high school students to design and architecture. It is intended to inspire curiosity about the world of design, introduce basic design knowledge and critical thinking skills, and familiarize students with the expansive architecture and design culture of Los Angeles.

The Summer School will focus on methodologies and ICT technologies for an autonomous, sustainable, resilient, and human-centered industry. The Summer School will provide an analysis of both the state of the art and frontier research in the field of ICT technologies for Industry 5.0, such as Artificial Intelligence, Embodied Intelligence, Human-Centric Systems, Smart Material Devices, and Future Networks.

The 2026 edition of the Summer School Enabling Technologies for Industrial Internet of Things (ET-I2oT 2026) is organized to provide 6 ECTS (about 52 hours of front lessons) in the fields of Electronics, RFID, Sensors, Networking, Web of Things, SW for IoT, Computer Engineering, targeting on one side an audience of Bachelor (last year), Master and PhD students, and on the other side early stage researchers and practitioners from Academia or Industry. Both HW and SW aspects of IoT will be presented and discussed during the school.

The Academy’s intensive, two and a half week programme combines sophisticated theory with hands-on practical experience in engineering, informatics and natural sciences. In addition to knowledge transfer in these fields, social, cross-cultural and gender aspects are covered and discussed during lectures and workshops.

Since 2014, the International Summer School “The City and the Water” has been a full-time design workshop that explores the complex relationships between the built environment and water, in its broadest sense as an environmental resource, including the sea, rivers, lakes and water resources.

The third edition of the Summer School “Microwaves and mm-waves for the Design of Advanced Wireless Links: Communication, Sensing and Power Transfer” aims to provide participants with a solid understanding of the fundamental principles and design strategies of modern wireless systems operating in the microwave and millimeter-wave frequency bands. It is co-coordinated by Prof. Paolo Nepa (Department of Information Engineering, University of Pisa) and Prof. Pietro Bolli, (Technology Director at the INAF Arcetri Astrophysical Observatory, Florence).

This course will explore the challenges and opportunities of building human habitats on Mars, integrating cutting-edge research from civil engineering, material science, and space exploration. From theoretical concepts to practical design challenges, this course bridges the gap between earthbound engineering and the future of space colonization.

The Carl Benz School Short Term Programs are the perfect opportunity to get first insights into the B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (International) College Program, the student life and possible future careers in engineering. The CBS Short Term Prorgams are designed for high school students aged 16 and older seeking an immersive exploration into the world of mechanical engineering. This unique program offers a comprehensive introduction to the field, emphasizing its profound relevance in addressing contemporary challenges. With a focus on experiential learning, participants engage in hands-on workshops and thought-provoking lectures, each woven around at least one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Delving into the intersection of mechanical engineering and these global objectives, students gain valuable insights into the discipline’s potential to drive sustainable solutions.

The Summer School "Beyond 5G: Enabling Technologies, Opportunities and Research Challenges Ahead" is organized to offer 6 ECTS (48 hours of front lessons) in the broad field of 5G and beyond 5G (B5G) networks, targeting an audience of Bachelor (last year), Master and PhD students, early stage researchers and practitioners from Academia or Industry. The technologies, opportunities and research challenges of 5G networks will be presented and discussed during the school.

Our Engineering program covers a wide range of profession-related subjects that are not commonly taught in universities, giving you a competitive edge in the real world. You will learn from experienced professionals and have the opportunity to work alongside them during your internship, gaining invaluable industry experience.

The Winter School is dedicated to PhD students who perform their research activities in the field of fluid machinery and energy systems engineering, including turbomachinery, internal combustion engines, energy conversion systems, power plants, renewable energy systems and innovative energy systems.

This course will present theories and findings from a wide range of disciplines, including various branches of cognitive, social, health and neuroscience, to gain insight into underlying mechanisms of human processes that can be exploited in human AI modeling and simulation.

This program presents a vital core for all hardcore programmers, with very strong prerequisites and excellent knowledge of Java and C# programming languages. Therefore, upon successful completion of the program, the students will, with no exception, witness their own quantum leap in knowledge, learning both the Kotlin programming language and Android mobile architecture.
