Find a program

Want to study in Australia? Find & compare programs

1. Choose the program you want to gain expertise

That is the first question you need to ask yourself. What is the profession of your dreams or where do you imagine yourself in 5 or 10 years from now? Australia offers literally all the degrees you can ask for: from medicine and law, to IT management, business administration, accounting, creative arts and design or education and environmental science. Choose wisely!

2. Check the admission requirements

Depending on the university, the discipline and the qualification level you are about to study, different admission requirements might apply. Make a thorough online research first, create a plan and then don’t hesitate to contact via email or phone the universities of your choice to learn more. You can also ask the Australian Embassy in your country and they will be happy to provide you with all relevant information.

3. Prepare the necessary documents

This is a rather time consuming step, so make sure to start as soon as possible. Do not neglect the translation procedures from your mother tongue into English, as this might take time as well. Make sure you know what you need to submit for your application based on the program you chose.

Most of the time, you will need to submit the following documents:

  • Transcripts of your previous education, copies of your passport or ID accompanied with recent photos.
  • The application form signed by you.
  • Proof of language competency in English.
  • The application fee (if needed).
  • The Confirmation of Enrollment (CoE) document.
  • Your Overseas Student Health Cover insurance (OSHC).
  • Statement that proves your financial funds to support your studies.
  • Letters of recommendation or motivational letters such as the Genuine Temporary Entrant document (GTE).
  • Clean criminal record signed by the police authorities.

4. Submit your application

When all the documents are ready, translated and signed, it is finally the time to submit your application. You can apply through an official external agent or on your own through the ImmiAccount application system. Create an account, follow the instructions and press submit! For more information and guidance or in case you have any difficulty, you can contact your university services department.

5. Apply for an Australian student visa

Congrats! You are officially registered as an international student in Australia. After you receive the letter of acceptance from the university, you can apply for your Australian student visa or Subclass 500 student visa. It would be good to start with that process as soon as you get your letter of acceptance, as the procedure might take time. Visit the visa section above regarding all the necessary documents and criteria you need to take into consideration for your visa application.

6. Arrive in Australia

See? It wasn’t difficult at all! You made it and now you are ready to prepare luggage with almost everything in it: from winter jackets to summer clothes depending on the location of your studies. Start looking for accommodation, even short-term ones, book an airplane ticket and come to Australia. An unforgettable study experience is about to begin!
