Chevening Scholarships
These scholarships are available to outstanding students who want to fund a one-year Master’s degree. Use the Chevening course finder to make sure your institution and program of study are Chevening partners. To be eligible for this award, students must demonstrate leadership and decision-making skills across a range of areas, including business, media, politics, and academia.
Commonwealth Scholarships and Fellowships
These funding opportunities are offered by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission UK. Over 900 scholarships and fellowships are available each year for students of Commonwealth countries who study in Wales to help them fund their postgraduate education.
Marshall Scholarships for American Students
These scholarships are offered to 40 graduates from the US. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.7 to apply and their degree must have been awarded within the past three years. This resource includes university fees, living expenses, travel costs (flights and daily commute) and entails a contribution towards the support of a dependent spouse.

Gilman-Global Wales Awards
The Gilman-Global Wales Awards are part of the Benjamin A Gilman International Scholarship Programme, which enables outstanding American students of limited financial means to study overseas for up to one academic year as part of their undergraduate studies. It is open to applicants at accredited US higher-education institutions and enables students to earn academic credits while studying at universities in Wales. Award holders receive a study grant of up to US$5,000 to be used toward tuition, housing, travel, and related costs for their year abroad.
Interested students are welcome to contact their campus study abroad office or visit the Gilman Scholarship website.
Global Wales Chevening Scholarship
These scholarships are open to students from Vietnam and India, and offer the chance of fully-funded postgraduate study at any Welsh university. Chevening Scholars can focus on achieving their academic goals while enjoying the experience of a lifetime in Wales.
Applications can be made between August and November, and all scholarship applications will need to be made directly to Chevening via your country page.
Global Wales British Council India Scholarship
The Global Wales British Council India Scholarship program offers 16 scholarships – each worth £5000 – to students from Telangana wishing to study at universities in Wales. The scholarship is to be used as a tuition fee discount towards a one-year postgraduate program in Wales.
Applications should be made directly through your chosen university.
Global Wales Postgraduate Scholarship
The Global Wales Postgraduate Scholarship program offers scholarships worth up to £10,000 - to study a full-time master's program for those who want to study in Wales. The scholarships are available to students from Vietnam, India, the United States, and the European Union. This prestigious scheme is the first scholarship of its kind in Wales and is funded by the Global Wales Program. Applications for September open each Spring.
Fulbright Global Wales Award
Global Wales sponsors two Fulbright awards:
Fulbright Postgraduate Award:
This is a Master's degree scholarship to study at one of the participating universities in Wales, in any field. The applicant should specify the chosen university, subject of study, and proposed supervisor when applying.
Fulbright Visiting Student Researcher Award:
This is a short-term (three to nine-month) research scholarship for a visiting student. Top scholars currently studying for a Ph.D. in the US are welcome to apply. Scholars may study at any university in Wales. Don’t forget to say what you want to study, and where.
