2. Check the admission requirements

Depending on the university and academic level of the degree, schools in Greece will have some requirements. There may also be English tests needed for English-language programs. Dedicate some time to read about the courses and curriculum within potential study programs and consult the official website for specific information about admissions. For questions and clarifications, don’t hesitate to contact schools in Greece.

3. Prepare all the necessary documents

After making a list of the programs you wish to apply for, pay attention to the particular documentation requirements. Make sure your passport is valid, take language tests if necessary, carefully prepare document translations into Greek if needed, and start writing your letter of motivation. You may also need to get legal recognition for official documents from your country.

4. Submit your application

Make sure to contact the schools in Greece that you're applying to before you submit your application. Some universities only accept online applications while others prefer the more traditional way of applying through post, which is great to know beforehand!

Don’t forget that all Greek universities start their academic year in September, so submit your application on time. If you submit your application electronically through the Ministry of Education, remember that the deadline is around the middle of July every year. The results for admission are announced in August.

5. Apply for a Greek study visa or residence permit

If you are accepted into a Greek university, the acceptance letter will have all the necessary information you'll need to know before arrival. Now is the time to prepare the first deposit of your tuition fees. Start the visa and residence permit paperwork as soon as possible, and contact the Greek embassy in your home country for guidance. If you're a European citizen, you won't need a visa or residence permit.

6. Arrive in Greece

After your visa and residence permit is approved, it’s finally time to book your tickets and start looking for accommodation! Pack your bags and be open to a life-changing experience in sunny and welcoming Greece.
