Windesheim University of Applied Sciences

Windesheim is in the top three of broad-based Universities of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands; we are highly ranked by both students and experts. Students appreciate our personal approach, allowing them to work in small groups and making each talent count. At Windesheim you are not just a number. Our lecturers are coaches as well and they challenge students to reflect and think critically and get the best out of themselves. Windesheim is also renowned for its innovative and entrepreneurial approach. We work in close collaboration with businesses and institutions, so the knowledge we gain and share is of instant practical relevance.

Our programmes for international students focus on business:

  • ‘International Business’ focuses on students who are interested in topics like management, logistics, finance and (internet) marketing.
  • ‘Sustainable Business and Innovations’ (officially: Global Project and Change Management) is the most international programme in the Netherlands, according to experts. It’s an honours programme for students who want to change the world in a positive way. Topics are climate change, global health, pollution, human rights, poverty eradication and social entrepreneurship.

Windesheim is located in Zwolle, a welcoming, lively and safe city only one hour’s drive from Amsterdam, with reasonable prices for living expenses. Zwolle is well known for its beautiful historic city centre, with lots of cafés, restaurants, parks, shops and cultural activities. International students are housed in a student residence close to the campus and the city centre, where you can live and study together.

On the Windesheim campus there’s a large variety of student facilities available to you: sports facilities, including a fitness centre, climbing wall, dojo and a large swimming pool, but also our media centre, a copy and campus shop and several canteens. We even have a grand café where Starbucks coffee is served!

I am Sebastian, first year student. I’m half Swedish, quarter Guatemalan, and quarter Mexican. I started making music about five years ago now, and since the biggest EDM scene is in the Netherlands, I thought it would be perfect to come and study here. I would love to get inspiration to create more creative and impactful innovations for society....
