About this program

Performing Arts

The content of the Performing Arts Program adequately corresponds the most recent advances in science, art and technology. Students are acquainted with the theory and practice of creative activities, improvisation, artistic project management, art marketing, and research methodology.Students are free to choose composers from various eras (including the latest) and nationalities for their final examinations and the final project. Graduate students are encouraged to pursue the most modern forms of performance, which helps them integrate into and position themselves within the context of the contemporary art scene.

It must be also noted that classes are led by the most regarded virtuosos in their fields and numerous visiting professors. It truly improves the students’ familiarity with the latest and the most unique artistic developments.

Specializations:Accordion, Choir conducting, Jazz, Piano, String Instruments, Vocal, Wind and Percussion Instruments.

Admission requirements

  • A high school diploma Diploma or certificate of previous musical education
  • Proof of English Language:applicant has to present document proving B2 level (TOEFL 87-109 iBT/534-633 PBT, IELTS 5-6,5, Cambridge English First (FCE) 161-180, BEC Vantage 161-180, Michigan ECCE (min. 650), PTE General Level 3, TOEIC Listening & Reading 785, TOEIC Speaking & Writing 310, Duolingo 100-125, EnglishScore 400-499) if the applicant is not native speaker and/or had not received education in English.

Qualification

  • To understand the specific features of the musical language, styles, genres, creative techniques, technologies, theoretical sources of knowledge of music, historical context of musical creation and traditions of performance art.
  • To be able to evaluate one’s specialization music repertoire from a theoretical, historical and interpretive points of view.
  • To perform and interpret works of different eras, styles and genres, within the limits of the texts and contexts of these creative works, taking into account the practice of performing the work at a particular period of time.
  • To know the technical differences and similarities of voice and instruments, the relationship of musical material to voice specificities and the technological properties of instruments.
  • To collaborate creatively (identifying and applying general principles of communication, psychological basics, establishing contact with creative work partners and listeners) implementing various musical projects, playing music together with instrumentalists of various specialties, singers and choirs.
  • To establish a link between the functioning of musical art in society, the history of musical activity and other branches of art.
  • To adopt innovative and creative solutions in diverse, unusual circumstances and situations for artistic activities and be able to adapt to constant changes in professional activities.
  • Through reflection and critical thinking, to assess personal skills and competencies, physiological and psychological challenges associated with the musical practice, to develop new artistic ideas creatively, to create activity and work opportunities for oneself and partners, taking into account the current challenges posed to the music performer in the changing cultural and social contexts.
