About this program
Masters in Automotive Electronic Systems
Based on the requirements of professional experience in the automotive industry, especially on level and scope of knowledge, is the goal of this field steadily to educate graduates with knowledge of the structures of advanced hardware and software solutions for automotive electronic systems. There are also strong requirements for knowledge of the specific software tools used in the development of these systems. Specific courses are thus designed with regard to the necessary knowledge and professional experience requirements. The education is designed as a project oriented, which means that students will be in study groups to solve a specific tasks defined by industry partners. Projects in the master's program will also take place in the partner’s workplaces. In particular, we talk about R&D and testing departments.

Qualification
Graduate's knowledge
During the study, the graduate of the Automotive Electronic Systems program will acquire the necessary knowledge of applied mathematics and physical principles of automotive systems; Advanced knowledge of algorithms and programing for the development of automotive control systems; Advanced theories of specific AES; Software development tools, Including real-time operating systems; Advanced forms of programing and software development of specific AES; Knowledge of current practices in the development of AES with regard to functional safety and reliability; Use of computer modeling tools, simulations and HIL testing; Further work in a team in solving the development, testing, measurement and reverse engineering of AES. Therefore, after completing this study program, graduates have extensive knowledge and understand the specific areas in the field of HW and SW resources of automotive electronic systems. They anchored a broad knowledge of theories, concepts and methods in general, and understands the possibilities, conditions and restrictions on the use of theories, concepts and methods in the practice. An essential erudition of the graduate is the knowledge of project management, which is also included in the teaching.
Graduate's skills
Emphasis is placed on the practical part of teaching, which is an essential part of project-oriented teaching (especially from the second semester) and in the implementation of diploma theses in relation with industrial practice. This student receives the necessary professional expertise and practical skills to enhance graduate with the ability to quickly incorporate the new employer of the automotive industry. Graduates of the Automotive Electronic Systems program are able to solve practical problems in the development of SW and HW of electronic vehicle systems, including respect for functional safety and Automotive Spice, as well as reliability criteria. Graduates will already be working with technologies that are expected to integrate early in the so-called autonomously controlled vehicles. They will learn to apply these in the field of automotive development. We are talking mainly about radar and lidar systems, tools and algorithms for image processing and identification of 3D objects and more. Graduates are able to find, classify and interpret information that is important for solving a defined practical problem, and can use some basic research procedures for solving practical problems.
Career paths
Graduate's employment
Thanks to obtained specific skills, the graduate will find employment in the development departments of companies engaged in the development of hardware and software in the field of automotive. At present, development centers for research and development of autonomously controlled vehicle systems, predictive maintenance applications, artificial intelligence applications and more are already being developed in cooperation with the university environment. This is quite exceptional, as automotive research and development needs to research and develop a large number of new technologies in the field of propulsion, on-board systems and chassis systems. Graduates can be immediately valid employees, able not only to learn new things, but also to pass on a range of knowledge.
Graduates can work as managers of research, development, service and trade; They can be designers in the automotive industry; they can also be executives in maintenance and repair operations, in research and development departments in the development and implementation of electronic applications in control technology, performance semiconductor systems, electrically controlled drives and measuring and diagnostic techniques for automotive. The graduate has a broad theoretical basis of the study program Automotive Electronic Systems, after the completion of knowledge from other specializations find employment in other areas of electrical engineering and computer science.
