Program description

Let your career take off with this exciting new addition to the London Geller College of Hospitality and Tourism-aviation management portfolio. Based on our extensive teaching experience and industry partners the BSc (Hons) Aviation Management with Commercial Pilot Licence offers you the opportunity to study a highly focused aviation management degree whilst undertaking your Commercial Pilot Licence training to gain ‘Frozen’ Airline transport pilot licence (ATPL).

Designed to seamlessly incorporate the study of a degree in aviation management with commercial pilot training, our course aims to make you stand out from the crowd. As the need for commercial airline pilots increases, this degree will equip you with both the practical and theoretical skills so highly sought after by the global airline community.

The BSc (Hons) Aviation Management with Commercial Pilot Licence course was designed with the input from a range of industry professionals and takes account of the dynamic changes the industry faces. On completion of your studies and by undertaking the full flight training, you will be the holder of not just an honours degree but also a 'frozen' Airline Transport Pilot Licence (fATPL). An ATPL is the highest licence you can obtain as a pilot and is the qualification that allows the holder to act as the Pilot in Command (PIC), or Captain of a large transport aircraft.

Your flight training will be undertaken with one of our accredited Approved Training Organisations (ATO’s). We believe choice is so important when making your decision as to where you will undertake your training. Therefore, we have teamed up with a number of suppliers including Booker Aviation to offer you a range of training options to suit all budgets.

Unique to this degree you will be able to enhance your experience by opting into one of our elective activities offered through our partners at TurnPoint Aviation. These options include:

Students who have successfully completed their fATPL are extremely sort after within the industry presently. Boeing predicts the need for over 100,000 new pilots across Europe over the next two decades. With this in mind students on the BSc (Hons) Aviation Management with Commercial Pilot Licence can expect to enter the industry as First officers for a range of airlines including Legacy as well as Low Cost airlines.
