Program description
If you want to explore the skills needed to become a professional actor - and also develop your ability as a singer – then this course is for you. This degree will enable you to become a self-reflective practitioner who can think, write and develop their own work.
You will study Eastern and Western European theatre, and concentrate on a variety of acting styles. In the third year you will get the opportunity to promote your work to leading industry professionals in masterclasses, workshops, mock auditions and in the West End agents’ showcase.
You will have access to flexible performance spaces with lighting and sound equipment, a dance studio, rehearsal rooms and additional external facilities, including professional theatre venues.
We encourage you to critically assess the global influences acting has as an art form, and we reference these in lectures and workshops. You will study:
• acting
• voice
• movement
• singing
• mask work
• accent/dialects
• contemporary dance
• stage combat
Your degree can take you anywhere, but some of the most popular careers for graduates include working in films, television and radio.
