Education Studies: International Perspectives (BA)

This pathway of the BA (Hons) Education Studies program will allow you to study a range of key issues relevant to educational theory and practice within a global context and consider issues of educational significance on a worldwide scale.

This single honours pathway program will allow you to explore and engage with a wide range of issues relevant to developing a critical understanding as to key issues affecting education across the globe.

At the core of this program are the foundation subject areas of Education Studies which include psychology, sociology, history and philosophy. The study of these subjects which will provide you with a detailed understanding of key educational issues that are relevant to a wide range of potential careers and postgraduate study options.

The specific modules relevant to the International Perspective pathway will allow for exploration of key global educational issues such as social justice and equality. It will also consider the role of international and regional agencies in supporting and developing education worldwide.

The opportunity to study teaching English as a foreign language is also a key feature of this program.

We firmly believe that education does not just take place in the classroom. Throughout your time will us you will gain a range of invaluable skills that are not just academic but are vital to any graduate in the workplace today. We place significant emphasis on the value of student engagement and learning through experience and will work with you to help develop the skills and abilities you need to succeed.

Admission requirements

Typical offers are made for 88 UCAS tariff points. The Education Studies program and associated pathway programs are intended for A level school leavers as well as those who have left education and now wish to return.

We also place great emphasis on supporting and encouraging non-standard entry students onto our program. We actively welcome applications from those who have relevant life skills and experience as well as the academic potential to succeed on the program.
