The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is a dynamic, cosmopolitan educational institution located in the center of Sydney, Australia. With its industry-focused approach to learning, UTS aims to be a leading university of technology not only in Australia, but worldwide.
In 2008, the University of Technology Sydney celebrated its 20-year anniversary, having developed from the former NSW Insititute of Technology.
Two campuses make up the University of Technology Sydney:
- City Campus, in central Sydney beside Central Station
- Kuring-gai Campus, in Lindfield, a peaceful suburb in northern Sydney
The University of Technology Sydney is focused on practice-oriented education with strong links to industry, professions and the community. Collaboration is encouraged between students, partners, alumni, and professions, both locally and internationally. UTS is in fact committed to internationalisation, and has a growing reputation for high-quality research.
Three interconnected models of learning are implemented at the University of Technology Sydney: professional practice in the global workplace emphasizing culture and international engagement; research-inspired and integrated learning; and exposure to professional practice through various modes of practice-oriented education. These models seem to be successful, as over three-quarters of graduates from the University of Technology Sydney find employment within 3 months of graduation.
