Admission requirements

You should have an MSc in Specialist Practice (PHP/PCC SCPHN), or a recognised equivalent international qualification. You must be currently registered as a healthcare professional to apply.

English language requirements

  • IELTS Academic: 7.0 overall with 6.5 in each element.

If you do not currently meet the level required for your program, offer intensive pre-sessional English language courses, designed to take you to the level of English ability and skill required for your studies.

Learning Outcome

  • Critically explore the conceptual models, theories and frameworks that support the provision of advanced practice
  • Develop and be able to articulate, a rational framework of values and beliefs, which underpin their practice
  • Critically explore and assess evidence, cases and situations in practice to allow a high level of decision making and judgement
  • Utilise critical thinking and problem solving skills in the demonstration of complex decision making
  • Demonstrate high levels of autonomous practice in complex decision making in an extended scope of practice role
  • Evaluate links between theory and practice to explore strategies relevant for the facilitation and assessment of learning within the work place
  • Critically evaluate their own and other’s practice, in order to ensure that practice is of a high standard and evidence based

We’ll prepare you to take the next step in your career as an advanced practitioner who has additional responsibilities within the healthcare sector. Our graduates typically take on more senior roles within the NHS or in private healthcare.
