Set in the bustling town of Guildford in the heart of the southeast of England, the campus is just a 10-minute stroll from Guildford town centre, which is alive with bars, restaurants and cafes. There is a frequent bus service between campus and the main railway station, running into the early hours of the morning. The town is also just a 34-minute train ride to London, making it easy to head to the capital for shopping, brunch, a night out, a West End show, some sightseeing or to visit to one of its inspiring galleries or museums.

Postgraduate Virtual Open Day
Join us for our virtual postgraduate event on Wednesday 21 April from 9am-6pm BST. During the event you can find out more about postgraduate study at Surrey during our welcome talk, discuss your options with our friendly academics in our academic Q&A zone, and hear from our current students. Staff from our student service departments as well as the Doctoral College (PGR) will also be available and we will have a number of videos online to enable you to view our beautiful campus. Applying for a PhD
This webinar will take a detailed look at how to apply for a PhD at the University of Surrey. You’ll be able to hear advice from academics and current postgraduate research students on finding and approaching a supervisor and preparing a research proposal. Staff from Admissions will be on hand to help with any specific questions.

- The Centre for Wellbeing supports the emotional and psychological wellbeing of our students throughout their studies.
- Our Library and Learning Centre, located at the heart of campus, is open 365 days a year and provides a variety of learning environments including silent study and group work areas.
- Surrey Sports Park is one of Europe’s leading sports venues and the home of Team Surrey. Whether you join for fun, health or competition, become part of something bigger with access to all areas of our world-class facilities.
Stag Hill campus has everything you need to work, rest and play. From the Library and Learning Centre, to numerous coffee shops, bars and restaurants. We also have a convenience store and a weekly food market full of food stands and groceries. Our Stag Hill campus is conveniently located just 10 minutes’ walk from Guildford town centre.
Manor Park is home to Surrey Sports Park, the School of Veterinary Medicine and our student village which has more than 1,500 en-suite rooms, a café/bar and a student hangout space.
The Students’ Union is at the heart of our student community. Run by a team of elected students, they provide an incredible programme of activities, entertainment and volunteering opportunities, including a choice of over 180 sports clubs and societies.
There are many fantastic events on campus which bring together students from all different backgrounds and cultures. The Students’ Union and its societies also hold several events and activities throughout the year.
