Program description

Extend your knowledge.

USQ is the only provider of agricultural engineering degrees in Australia and New Zealand, and we have links to world class research with the Centre for Agricultural Engineering.

The Graduate Certificate of Engineering Science (Agricultural Engineering) is ideal if you have a three year engineering degree and you want to extend your knowledge in agricultural engineering. You don’t even need work experience to commence your postgraduate studies in this degree.

If you studied your undergraduate degree in a different area of engineering, this degree will allow you to change your career path and specialise in agricultural engineering.

Through this four unit degree, you will study advanced level agricultural engineering, empowering you to address problems relating to sustainable agricultural production, precision agriculture and the post-harvest handling of agricultural and other primary products.

Further study

When you complete your Graduate Certificate of Engineering Science you could take the credit from your studies and go on to complete theGraduate Diploma of Engineering Science. You could even go on to complete the Master of Engineering Science where you will have the opportunity to do a research project and dissertation to apply your formal knowledge to a real world issue.

Professional accreditation

The Graduate Certificate of Engineering Science is not accredited by any professional bodies other than the University of Southern Queensland. It does however provide a pathway to the Master of Engineering Science which is provisionally accredited with Engineers Australiafor membership as a graduate Professional Engineer.
