The Master in Artificial Intelligence and Automation Engineering gives students strong scientific and technological background on complex engineering problems with emphasis on advanced topics in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotics, and Automation Engineering. Students acquire the appropriate knowledge and expertise for the design of novel software and hardware architectures and are early solicited to interact with companies working in the field to gain real-world experience on currently hot topics. The Master offers plenty of job opportunity in big companies as well as in startups, public institutions, and research centers.

Admission criteria
Your application will be processed only if the GPA of your undergraduate degree is above the minimum values reported here: list of minimum GPA by country
The competences required to be admitted to the MSc in engineering are:
- a background in mathematics, statistics and physics, equivalent to the one achieved in first-level (B.A.) engineering degrees;
- basics principles of computer science, control, electronics and telecommunications;
- basic programming skills.

Non-EU citizens are invited to contact the Italian Diplomatic Representation of their countries as soon as possible in order to obtain all the required documents for the pre-enrollment at the University of Siena and for information regarding the VISA process.
EU citizens – Non EU citizens with regular permit to stay – Italians with degrees obtained abroad
They must contact the appropriate Italian Diplomatic Representation in order to obtain all the documents required for enrollment in the University of Siena.
Language requirements
In order to take the MSc courses, students must have an adequate knowledge of the English language, at least of level B1 as established by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Students can demonstrate to possess the required knowledge level either through a recognized international certification (see the list) of international certifications recognized by the University of Siena), or by passing a B2 level exam at the Centro Linguistico di Ateneo (CLA).
After enrolment in Siena, students having an international certification must present it to the CLA office. The CLA is located in Piazza San Francesco 7, Siena (more details can be found in the related website).

This mode is essential for students who are temporarily unable to be on premises.

Furthermore, the MSc in Computer and Automation Engineering allows students to access PhD programs in the areas of Information Engineering.
