Program description

Inter-university Master's Degree in Genetic, Nutritional and Environmental Factors in Growth and Development

This master's degree aims to provide participants with the basic tools they need to generate scientific knowledge for improving health care. The content ranges from the genetic, nutritional and environmental factors of growth and development – taught at a highly specialized level using hypothesis formulation – to the design of studies and statistical analyses for health problems, the drawing up of research protocols for studies involving children (including ethical implications), and the publication of results.

The main objective is to train students to work as researchers, teachers and professionals with a multidisciplinary profile. They will have an overall knowledge of all areas of growth and development and will be able to act as project leaders and adapt effectively to a rapidly changing context.

Admission requirements

The Master's Degree is aimed at graduates in Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology, Health System Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Food Science and Technology, Nursery and Genetics, who are interested in carrying out research projects.

This Master's Degree is aimed at graduates who are capable of working in an interdisciplinary team, who show initiative and who are self-motivated to carry out their tasks with the highest level of quality.

  1. Academic transcript: 30%
  2. Proof of a level of English above B1: 10%
  3. Knowledge of statistics: 10%
  4. Curriculum vitae: 50%
    • Work experience related to the master’s degree content: 10%
    • Research experience and/or publications: 25%
    • Other merits, up to 15%: contribution in related research projects (5 %), accredited long-term courses related to the master’s degree (5%) and other related merits (5%)

Scholarships & funding

The URV Master's Grants are aimed at exempting full-time students newly registered on a master's course from registration up to a maximum of 60 ECTS credits.

Tuition fees

  • For students from member states of the European Union, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Switzerland and Andorra* or resident in Spain: €1,806 / full time-course.
  • Rest of students*: €2,913.

*Students who have obtained their degrees outside of Spain will be charged with €218.15 as a Tax of academic career that will apply in the first registration only (price for course 2021-22).
