Hokkaido, Pisa, Tor Vergata Summer School in Mathematics 2021

NOTICE: Due to the persistence of restrictions on student mobility and on-site teaching activities, the Summer School "Hokkaido - Pisa - Tor Vergata Summer School in Mathematics 2021" has to be cancelled for this year.

The Summer School will be held in 2022.

New dates and new application deadline will be published in October 2021.

The School is part of a more general plan for scientific collaboration between the Hokkaido University, the Department of Mathematics of the University of Pisa and the Department of Mathematics of Tor Vergata University to stimulate the exchange of students and the development of scientific research.

In the frame of this collaboration the first School was organized in Sapporo in the Spring of 2015 and then, alternatively, in Pisa and Sapporo. The one to be held this year willl be 5th and it will take place in Pisa, hosted by Centro di Ricerche Matematiche Ennio De Giorgi (CRM). There is no registration fee, but registration is required to attend.

Admission requirements

The target ranges from advanced undergraduate students to graduate students and young researchers.

Program content

The school aims to provide up-to-date intensive mini courses in several pure and applied mathematical research domains: machine learning and data science, dynamics, numerical methods, mathematical physics, geometry.

The Foundation Course

Summer Schools

Intensive academic courses for international students and also for graduates.They mostly last from 1 to 6 weeks and take place in an international context, with students and lecturers coming from various parts of the world and all lectures delivered in English.They are characterized by nonconventional teaching formats (workshops, tutorials, excursions, cultural events, business testimonials, etc.) and a multidisciplinary approach. Professors are experts in their areas and have a keen interest in what they do.Summer Schools meet strict academic regulations: each grants at least 3 ECTS credits and the participants who successfully pass the final exams will receive an official academic transcript.
