
Program description
MA in Ceramic Design
At the Ceramic Design courses students are introduced to a wide range of silicate materials from classical materials of ceramic design up to concrete. The University of Pécs, Faculty of Music and Visual Art’s Ceramic department has a close partnership, and is located at the same site as the world famous Zsolnay Porcelain Factory in Pécs. Various types of forming methods from handcrafting to design and spacious studio places together with academic level personal tutoring provide the students the opportunity of finding their own artistic way.

- Portfolio, with minimum 10 works, made in the past 2-3 years.

Career opportunities
Ceramic designers tend to be employed by manufacturers of ceramic products or work independently as freelancers. Apart from carrying out hands-on ceramics design and creation activities, ceramic designers research designs and new materials, build and promote a creative and vibrant portfolio and liaise with clients, other craftsmen, museums and galleries.
