About this program
The two-year Master Degree Program in World Politics and International Relations is designed to help you analyze the major issues arising out of these processes. Whether you are aiming at a career in national or international public services, in non-governmental organizations, or in the private sector, you need a multidisciplinary approach to grasp the key issues. Specific courses include Comparative Politics, Economic Models of Politics, Comparative History of Government, International Relations, History of International Relations, History of Diplomacy, Human Rights and International Justice, Regional Integration, Ethics, and International Relations.
In addition to these courses, students are offered choices among language courses, internships and professional training. Non-Italian students are offered basic and intermediary courses of Italian as a second language. Most of the teaching is interactive, taking the form of seminars involving student participation, presentations and discussions. Some courses involve the participation of outside speakers, practitioners and visiting professors from abroad.

Admission requirements
In order to apply to this program, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- A first level (at least three-year) degree covering one or more of the humanities or social sciences and including at least 36 credits (ECTS or international equivalent) in one or more of the following areas: demography, economics (not including business studies) and statistics; modern or contemporary history; political studies; public, private or international law; sociology.
- Proficiency in the English language at the level of the European standard C1. Candidates are strongly advised (though not on pain of exclusion) to submit an English language certificate.

- Fee Waiver: exemption from the payment of the University tuition fee;
- EDiSU Pavia scholarship: Edisu scholarship benefits for all level applicants include accommodation in a Residence; one meal per day at the canteens; a sum of money, according to the student’s economic situation.
- “STUDY IN ITALY” : The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also assigns scholarships to applicants from specific countries, fulfilling some merit requirements and enrolling in Master’s Degree and PhD programs.
Tuition
- Fees for EU and non-EU students regularly residing in Italy are based on students’ family income and on the field of study. They range from about 156 EUR to 3200 EUR per year.
- Non-Eu students with a valid study VISA can benefit from a flat rate, set on the basis of the Country of citizenship and the field of study. The flat rate ranges from 400 EUR to 3500 EUR per year.
Qualification
Upon completion of this program, graduates will be awarded a Master's Degree in World Politics and International Relations.

Given its interdisciplinary and comparative nature, the Laurea Magistralis in World Politics and International Relations provides students with a broad perspective on current global issues, an understanding of the genesis and the evolution of major international changes, and an ability to recognize and evaluate their theoretical and practical outcomes. This broad-based training in international affairs offers a solid basis for careers in national diplomatic services, in International Governmental Organizations (including European organizations), and in NGOs, as well as positions for analysts and consultants in internationally oriented private and public companies, public administrations, and research institutes. It also offers the basis for continued university studies at the Ph.D. level.
