The University of Mount Union’s Bachelor of Science in environmental science emphasizes examining environmental issues through hands-on field and laboratory activities. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the number of jobs for environmental scientists is expected to grow faster than the average throughout the course of this decade at a rate of 11 percent. According to the BLS, environmental scientists will see substantial employment growth in private consulting firms that assist clients with the monitoring and management of environmental concerns and compliance with regulations.
