Program description

The Department of Religion at the University of Manitoba focuses on three areas of study: religions in the West (especially Christianity and Judaism), religions in the East (Islam, Hinduism, Yoga, Buddhism), and religion and culture. Method and theory is an integral part of our program as is an emphasis on world religions. Courses are mainly tradition based or topics based. Our topical courses are comparative, for example, dealing with death and mourning rituals in world religions.

Admission requirements

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.

  •  Grade12 English 

MB High School Graduation (5 full credits at the Grade 12 level in courses designated S, G, or U) _x000D_ A minimum 85% average over the following, with no less than 60% in each course: 1. English 40S 2. A second 40S course 3. A third 40S course
