Animal Science

Courses of study and research may be undertaken in several disciplines related to animal science. These include genetics (animal breeding), nutrition (monogastric and ruminant) and physiology (digestive, environmental, reproductive). Experimental species include cattle (beef and dairy), poultry (chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese), sheep, swine, laboratory animals (mice, rats, rabbits) and wildlife animals. Studies may also involve feed and food safety, toxicology or more general fields of livestock and poultry production.
