Study in the heart of Europe at the University of Luxembourg! In the heart of Europe, a new public university was founded in the year 2003: the University of Luxembourg. The University has positioned itself as a multilingual, internationally focused research university and offers students an extraordinary environment – thanks to the European institutions, the international financial centre and the attractive job market of Luxembourg, but also thanks to the multilingualism of the microstate. The multicultural flair of the country is alive on campus too: the University’s 4500 students originate from 88 different countries and lecturers from about twenty countries. Whether English/German, English/French or German/French: many programmes are taught in two languages, some even in three. Moreover, the University of Luxembourg also offers several Masters taught entirely in English. Great value is set upon mobility: all undergraduates have to spend at least one semester abroad. The mobility is done in the frame of exchange programmes within Europe or overseas. Interchange agreements already exist with over 200 universities in 22 countries. In addition, students are offered foreign language courses, and if they need more practice, France, Belgium and Germany are just around the corner. The personal ambience is also typical for Luxembourg. The University of Luxembourg establishment is manageable; everyone knows everyone else on campus. Many courses take place in the form of seminars, and bachelor students are guided in tutorials. The 170 professors and lecturers are easy to reach. They are supported by around 500 practitioners, including financial and legal experts as well as judges from the European Court of Justice. The University of Luxembourg pursues three goals: teaching, research and knowledge transfer at the highest international level. The programmes are built directly on the Bologna system. The University counts three faculties: the Faculty of Science, Technology and Communication, the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance, the Faculty of Language and Literature, Humanities, Arts and Education. Students can currently choose between 11 Bachelor and 20 Master courses.
