Master's Degree in Bioethics and Biolaw
This Master's degree is taught online, with two in-person sessions to facilitate the interaction of students with teaching staff.
The Master of Bioethics and Biolaw, is a blended learning degree, offered together with the University of La Laguna. It is the result of the adaptation between two Canarian universities and participation of Universities of the Basque Country, Zaragoza and Rovira i Virgili.
The need for training in Bioethics has been clearly established in the past years, as a consequence of the complexity which has acquired clinical practice and paradigm shift in relationships between professionals and patients.
It is not enough with "good intentions" or common sense, but necessary to deepen knowledge in both the philosophical foundations and Anthropological aspects of man, health and illness. This includes ethical criteria and current deontological knowledge, as well as fundamentals in legal consequences and civil or criminal liability of medical practitioners.
The importance of bioethics has been underlined by numerous works of international organizations (WHO, Unesco) and international medical associations.
