Program description

This programme reflects the growing importance of China in the world economy. A knowledge of Chinese language and culture is increasingly important as China becomes a bigger global player, economically and politically. China currently has the largest population in the world and the world's second largest economy. Students on this programme complement their understanding of Chinese culture and language with a knowledge and understanding of economics. You will acquire a broad knowledge and understanding of key economic and social issues, principles, models and associated mathematical and statistical techniques, along with applications and policy implications of those models and a deeper understanding of recent research activity in some more specialised areas. The programme provides an excellent basis for careers in international business or finance or in other non-commercial international organisations.
