Physics with Renewable Energy Science
Renewable energy technologies such as hydroelectricity, solar power, biomass, wind energy and tidal turbines are now fundamental to the growing global effort to combat damaging climate change. We offer renewable energy degrees which cover virtually every aspect of the wide range of technologies that you will encounter in a professional career in this field. At Dundee our Renewable Energy degrees emphasise real-life engineering practice and research methodology through extensive practical projects chosen to match your career objectives. They reflect both experimental and theoretical aspects of the subject.
You will have the opportunity to get involved with our research projects as part of the Undergraduate Research Club from Level 1 onwards.
Admission requirements
The minimum requirement for the majority of our taught postgraduate programs is an undergraduate Honours degree.
However for many of our Masters programs you need to have at least an Upper Second Class (2:1) Honours degree, and some may specify the relevant subject they are looking for.

All courses at the University of Dundee are taught in English. If your first language is not English you must typically have an IELTS score of at least 6.5 overall (or equivalent) with a 6.0 in Writing and Speaking and a minimum of 5.5 in the other two components in order to be successful in your academic studies.
Additionally, if you require a visa to study in the UK, then you must also meet the level of English required by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI). The IELTS standard of English language required for each Masters course is shown on the individual course page.
