UCAS Tariff 48 points Your offer will be based on your predicted grades from your core A2s (full A levels), BTEC Diploma etc. We will accept up to 16 points towards the total from level 3 qualifications such as AS (where those AS levels are not taken on to A2 level), the Extended Project, or Music qualifications.  We usually consider an A Level in General Studies as a supplementary qualification. A good application/performance will be taken into account if you do not meet the criteria / offer.

Non-UCAS tariff based Level 3 qualifications from subject related areas may also be considered for entry, eg NVQ/VRQ in Professional Cookery or other related subjects.


English language requirements

IELTS overall score at a minimum of 6.0; with at least IELTS 5.5 in each band (Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing) or another Secure English Language Test(SELT)at CEFR level B2 or above

Program content

How you will learn

You will develop your practical skills in our modern, industry standard kitchens under the expert supervision of our chefs. Experiencing both the food service and the food production sides of culinary operations, you will also develop invaluable skills in areas such as customer relations, problem-solving, team-working, communication, critical thinking, supervision and leadership.

You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of events, such as weddings and banquets to graduation ceremonies and conferences, so you will develop your technical skills as a culinary professional.

You could progress to roles such as chef de partie, pastry chef, assistant kitchen manager, off-site catering chef, production chef or development chef – to name but a few.

Please note that this course will be studied at our Buxton Campus until September 2022. If you are commencing your studies in September 2021 you will study your first year at our Buxton Campus and your second year at our Derby Campus. If you are commencing your studies in September 2022 you will study the full duration of your course at our Derby Campus.
