BSc Computer Networks and Security

INTRODUCTION
This industry-recognised Computer Networks and Security degree gives you both the technical ability to build physical infrastructure and the software development skills to ensure it’s robust and secure.

WHY CHOOSE THIS COURSE?
It’s in touch with industry needs: we’re certified by CISCO and we’re also a member of the Microsoft IT Academy. This helps your employability – the latest national survey found that 100% of our Computer Networks and Security graduates were in work or further study within six months. Our facilities include a full range of wireless and conventional equipment by CISCO, D-Link, Linksys, Netgear and others.

IS THIS COURSE FOR YOU?
Do you want to become a successful networks or security specialist? Are you interested in building your experience with a year in industry? If so, this degree is perfect for you.

HOW YOU WILL LEARN
There’s a mixture of lectures, tutorials and laboratory work.

OPPORTUNITIES AND EXPERIENCES
If you choose the optional year in industry, you could find yourself on placement with companies like Microsoft, IBM, Intel and BT, as previous students have. It’s a brilliant opportunity to gain experience, learn from leading network and security professionals, and transform your CV.

CAREERS AND EMPLOYABILITY
Several highly-publicised hacking incidents and breaches of security has led to a demand for graduates skilled in networks and security. Your wide range of abilities – developing, maintaining, securing and managing computer networks, as well as the engineering side of network protocol development and research – will make you suitable for a variety of computing careers.
