Program description

BA/BSc BA (Hons) Product Design

Combine creative flair with an understanding of design for 21st century manufacture. Specialise in user-centred or technically-oriented design as you prepare for a career making effective, attractive products that people want. Choose a BA (Hons) or BSc (Hons) pathway depending on your career preference.

Why choose this course?
You'll focus developing your creativity and practical skills that employers tell us they want from graduates.

Is this course for you?
It’s all about giving you the skills to work in a modern design environment, combining traditional approaches with latest technologies in CAD, visualisation, manufacturing and rapid prototyping. The course can be tailored to match your personal interests too; there is a common first year for all product design students, after which you can choose whether to focus on a BA (Hons) or BSc (Hons) pathway.

Opportunities and experiences
Employer-sponsored assignments and live project work are cornerstones of BA (Hons)/BSc (Hons) Product Design. You can even take an optional placement year in industry. There is the chance to go on cultural study visits, hear from visiting speakers and showcase your talent in major competitions and exhibitions too.
