Student lifestyle

UCSB is the only university in the US (if not the world) to have its own beach! Students live a block from the ocean, and take advantage of surfing, skateboarding and biking. Santa Barbara also has the Santa Ynez mountains that allow for hiking, rock climbing and mountain biking.

On campus, students have access to the Recreation Center, which houses weightlifting areas, a rock climbing wall, tennis courts, basketball courts, and 2 large swimming pools. Additionally, club and intramural sports are offered as well. Working out is a big culture at UCSB!

Isla Vista, where are students live, is known for its fun and festive social atmosphere! It is a area where only students live and provides a lot of opportunity for parties and social gatherings. It is the perfect place for the US university experience.
