Berkeley Global is a branch of the University of California, Berkeley. Berkeley Global provides short term non-degree study abroad experiences for international students and professionals looking to advance their academic and professional goals. We offer programs for students looking to gain a study abroad experience as well as certificates for professionals looking to advance their career. In addition, we also offer online certificate programs.

Scholarships & funding
Since we issue certificates and not degrees, our programs do not qualify for Financial Aid. Our Berkeley Haas Global Access Program and Berkeley Global Access Program and Chemistry Visiting Student program offer a scholarship opportunity that you may apply for.
Eligibility
Current third- or fourth-year undergraduates or recent graduates/graduate students 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) in your undergraduate or graduate studies.
How to Apply
Complete the online application. Within the application, you will indicate your intent to apply for the scholarship. You will need to submit an essay on the given prompt and submit a professional or academic letter of recommendation.

Student lifestyle
UC Berkeley is located in Berkeley, which is a medium size city located a little north of the middle of the state, in Northern California. The City of Berkeley is home to 121,000 residents. It is a bustling “college town” that features organic farmer’s markers, over 350 restaurants and the beautiful, wooded Berkeley hills that offer hiking and views of the entire Bay Area. Downtown Berkeley offers cinemas, live theater and music, among other attractions.
This general area is called the San Francisco Bay Area due to its proximity to the San Francisco Bay (Pacific Ocean). The “Bay Area” is a vibrant, culturally diverse, dense metropolitan area that includes the cities of San Francisco, Berkeley and Oakland. From Berkeley, it takes 20 minutes on the train to San Francisco. San Francisco is a world class city that boasts beautiful architecture, amazing views and Michelin star restaurants.
Berkeley is also very close to Silicon Valley, the hub and epicenter for advances in technology and product development. Silicon Valley is south of San Francisco and is home to many companies like Google, Apple, Facebook, as well as technology start ups. Berkeley’s proximity to Silicon Valley makes it very attractive to students interested in start up culture, entrepreneurship and innovation. Berkeley is also a short drive from wineries in the Napa and Sonoma wine regions, redwood forests, amazing beaches along the Pacific Coast and incredible mountains and skiing in Lake Tahoe.
UC Berkeley has 1,200 student clubs and organizations ie. Skateboarding crew and Hackers@ Berkeley. UC Berkeley has 34 club sports and many intramural sports teams.
