The BA (Hons) English Studies for Teaching undergraduate programme is designed for speakers of English as a native language who want to work as teachers of English as a foreign language.
English Studies is the study of both English Language and English Literature. It is a rich and thoughtful field in which to do a degree. You study both high-level issues of Language – grammar, syntax, rhetoric and writing styles – and also theoretical and philosophical aspects of language – how language functions in relation to community and politics, issues of language and power, forms of English, and so forth.
