Master of Education

The Master of Education at the UUM College of Arts & Sciences in Malaysia is an education programme aimed at producing professional educators who are intellectually, physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually balanced and able to apply the skills and knowledge acquired to conduct research in education-related fields.

This Master of Education makes clear the nature of and processes involved in research, namely within education. The education programme starts with covering the philosophy of knowledge, the ethics of research, a definition of research, and the scientific method in research. The Master of Education reviews the study of steps in planning a research problem, including reviewing related literature, formulation of research questions, problem identification, gathering and analysing data, and presenting the final report.

The Master of Education is offered in 3 structures: coursework, coursework and dissertation, and full research. There are 4 available specialisations:

  • English Language Teaching
  • Instructional Technology
  • Curriculum & Instruction
  • Educational Psychology

Upon completion of this Master of Education, students are able to overcome educational challenges through reflective practices, apply educational theories to their respective areas of specialisation, and more within the exciting field of education.
