The PhD in Regional Development is an adaption of the University of La Laguna's current Doctoral Program in Regional Development, Training and Employment.
In 2008 the doctoral program was distinguished with the Quality Mention according to the Secretary of State for Universities, which granted this award to the doctoral studies of the Spanish universities in the 2008-2009 academic year.
